This course provides the student with an in-depth knowledge of current in-service nuclear plant design, including nuclear plant reactor, reactor auxiliaries, secondary steam plant, and electrical systems.  It examines the design bases for major systems and components in current operating nuclear plants and evaluates how the systems function in an integrated fashion.  Case studies are used to explore historical engineering and operational issues.  New vendor nuclear plant designs are explored and compared to current designs.
