SPAN 202 SPANISH FOR COMMUNICATION II: An intensive review of Spanish and further development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through extensive use of audio and visual aids. Three instructional hours plus one hour of laboratory. Three credits.

COURSE GOALS:  The study of foreign language and culture will provide students the ability to communicate at a simple level in Spanish, insights into linguistic structures, and the cultural sensibility to prepare them to live in a multicultural society and a global economy.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: The course is aimed at achieving an intermediate range of linguistic proficiency, based on the American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) scale, in the areas of oral fluency, listening comprehension, reading and writing, and a global perspective through an appreciation of the cultural and ethnic diversity of the Hispanic world and its people.
