Reading and Writing the Theatre is an introduction to dramatic genre and playwriting. In this course YOU will read and analyze a variety of significant plays across a variety of historical periods and genres. You will learn the elements of playwriting, with an emphasis on dramatic structure, dialogue, character, and action. Hopefully, this class will strengthen your critical reading, writing, and thinking skills.
You will also write, revise, and workshop dramatic monologues, scenes, and short plays.
