Women, especially women of color are consistently
ignored in the construction of normative ethics. This seminar is an introduction to womanist, ethics,
ethical frameworks that consider the perspectives and experiences of
individuals disadvantaged by gender, sexual, racial and class discrimination.
This semester we will engage in “high impact ethics” as we explore essential
teachings in the work of womanist thinkers simultaneously to better understand see
how the Christian community understands moral agency in a variety of cultural
situations.
